Minutes of the Pastoral Council Meeting on December 20, 2018

for St. Andrew/St. Ann Parish


Present:  Fr. Gary, Deacon Don, Cindy Canning, Bill Schwartz, Linda Kranawetter, Rebecca Korando, Garrett Cook, Linda Bunselmeyer, Theresa Madel, Audrey Arnold, Linda Porter-Smith

Absent: Kevin Junk, Rob Kippenbrock, Jessica Fritsche, Mark Williams, Jennifer Craig, Angelo Fiorino

Meeting opened at 6:00 pm.

Opening prayer was led by Deacon Don.

Minutes from the November meeting were reviewed.  Bill made a motion that the minutes be approved, and Linda Kranawetter seconded the motion. All were in favor.   

Committee Reports

Spiritual Evolvement:

Fr. Gary reported the St. Andrew Feast Day celebration went well. Advent prayers were going well. On December 23rd, the choir will sing a Cantata in place of Advent prayers.

Hospitality/Community Life

Fellowship Weekends: November Fellowship was hosted by Bill after the 11:00 mass, and by Linda Kranawetter after the 8:00 mass. Cindy will follow up with Mrs. Martin about school families hosting in January and having Children�s Masses on the 3rd weekend of the month.  


Bill reported that he is keeping the website up to date.

Physical Facilities:

Fr. Gary reported that work on the St. Andrew�s roof steeple is continuing. Two pillars have been repaired in church. Painting in the sacristy is taking place.  

Old Business:

Dynamic Catholic Event: Cindy reported that St. Andrew will by hosting an event on March 30th, from 9:00-1:00 pm. Tickets are currently available on the Dynamic Catholic website, and will be available for purchase at St. Andrew closer to the event. There will be a max of 300 tickets sold. Volunteers for a team to plan and coordinate the event include:  Cindy Canning, Rebecca Korando, Linda Bunselmeyer, Theresa Madel, Garrett Cook, Audrey Arnold, and Linda Kranawetter. The team will tentatively meet on Jan. 17th at 5:00 to begin planning.

Lent Plan and Theme:  The theme for Lent this year will be �Jesus, Remember Me.� Rebecca will order bracelets to be given out during Lent. More ideas will be discussed at the next meeting.  

New Business:

No new business was discussed.

Garrett made a motion to adjourn the meeting, Theresa seconded the motion.  All were in favor.

Closing prayer was led by Fr. Gary.

The meeting ended at 7:10.

The next parish council meeting is scheduled for January 17th, at 6pm.
