Minutes of the June 26, 2019: Motion to approve the minutes by Linda Kranawetter; seconded by Charles McCann; minutes were unanimously approved with no correction or additions.
Church Budget - Judy Wisniewski questioned why the figures show that we are $36,000 over on the budget. The income is down. The utilities are up. A discussion ensued concerning the cost of the utilities after we changed providers to set a basic cost for
utilities. It was explained that a portion of the increase was a result of an interim period when, after the previous contract ended and before the new contract started, we were on a very high rate. Several other items were discussed as affecting the budget. No
action taken. The proposed budget was reviewed but no vote was taken.
School Budget - Mary Annette Lane questioned whether the letter to parents of students who had not yet paid last years tuition had been sent by the school board. Jenny Martin reported that the letter had not yet been prepared. It was pointed out that
the next school year is upon us and the matter continues to be unresolved. Bill Schwartz offered to prepare a letter to be sent by the Finance Council if the school board cannot fulfill its responsibility. A discussion then occurred that there are only 6 students who have not paid. Two were not returning for the coming academic year; one had tuition paid through a grant; one students parents had catastrophic medical expenses; one students parents had a really bad year; and, one students parents will not talk with the principal. The school board is to be contacted to determine the status of the letter before the Finance Council takes further action.
St. Ann - No questions were raised and it was reported that the church is in good shape.
Bill Schwartz made a motion, seconded by Linda Kranawetter that the bills be paid for St. Andrew Church. A voice vote was taken: all were in favor and none opposed.

Judy Wisniewski informed the Council that she was no longer going to copy all of the investment reports each quarter. The reports involve a lot of paper and the relevant information can be provided in a more reduced summary. No one expressed any opposition. Father Gary reminded everyone that he was in favor of saving forests by greatly reducing the pages that were copied for each meeting and left unread and unclaimed in the conference room.
Judy Wisniewski reported that all discretionary funds and funds that are not specifically identified have been used. There is no financial leeway with $35,000 in diocesan taxes still being owed.
A brief report was given on the Cemetery Fund and the likelihood of raising prices. This
is an issue being considered by the Cemetery Committee.
The concrete work has been completed in front of the church. Rather than using electric pads because of the cost, Kelly Crabtree decided to use piping embedded in the concrete that will circulate glycol with a heat exchanger/pump located in the basement of the church. The heat exchanger/pump has yet to be installed which is the reason the orange lines are visible in front of the Annex.
The cook shed will be completed before the festival.
St. Ann - The awning has been installed.
Father Gary is very pleased with a modification to the stairs inside leading to the altar. The lower stair has been made to be removable which provides greater room when a funeral is being conducted at St. Ann.
Handrails will soon be installed.
Bill Schwartz reported on on-line giving. He recommended that the parish use ParishSoft as its provider. The recommendation is made because its was next to the lowest cost provider and we are already using one of the other products of ParishSoft.
Cindy Holt made a motion, seconded by Judy Wisniewski that ParishSoft be used as
the provider for on-line giving. A voice vote was taken: all were in favor and none
The question of on-line giving for St. Ann was raised. The Council members from St. Ann thought there would be interest in on-line giving at St. Ann Church. Bill Schwartz suggested that on-line giving be established at St. Andrew and then St. Ann
be added. The Council agreed with that idea.
Dennis Korando reported that St. Ann wants to replace the windows in the Parish House of St. Ann. He reports that they will replace one or two windows per month as funds are available. Linda Kranawetter made a motion approving the replacement of the windows, seconded by Cindy Holt. A voice vote was taken: all were in favor and none opposed.
With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:07 p.m. with a closing prayer led by Fr. Gary.
Next Meeting: July 24, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. in the meeting room of the Rectory of St. Andrew Church.
Respectfully submitted by,
Bill Schwartz taking notes in place of Christina Crabtree, Secretary
