Meeting opened at 6:32 P.M.

Opening prayer was led by Cindy Canning.

A quorum of members were not in attendance but Fr. Gary waived the quorum requirement. A motion to approve the minutes was made Bill Schwartz with the correction of the Bible School days mentioned being Sunday-Friday and the motion was seconded by Kevin Junk. The minutes from the last meeting were approved

Michael Koberstein was a guest speaker.  He discussed the Second & Final Phase of the building project.  The First Phase has been is completed which includes the new entrance, offices and classrooms in addition to a conference room and Annex.  The project was intially projected to cost $600K with $400K was raised through donations and pledges. $200K was saved by through efforts by Kelly Crabtree and volunteer work of parishioners!

Fager-McGee & Lunsford project that 1.8 million is needed for the Second Phase. The diocese requires that one-half of the projected total be in hand before approval for construction of the project will be given. In addition to multi-purpose area several classroom will be built designed to accommodate the STEM curriculum.
STEM is a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in four specific disciplines � science, technology, engineering and mathematics � in an interdisciplinary and applied approach.

Mike is addressing various groups making people aware of the project and generally soliciting funds. The funds for the Second Phase are dedicated funds are for the project and will only beused on the project.

Old Business:
Fr. Gary will make the final decision on what the yard sign will say.  We will order 60.

Committee Reports
Spiritual Evolvement:
Jennifer Craig reported that VBS is scheduled for the week of July 22nd, 2018 from 6:30-8:00 pm in the school gym, from Sunday-Friday. Bill Harper and Courtney Vincent will be helping with the Bible School along with other volunteers.  Anyone wanting to help should call Jennifer.

The effort to develop small groups should begin again now that Summer vacation is completing. Each small group will decide what activities/studies and discussions that particular group will have.  Deacon Don is going to call the Diocese to see what resources are available.  He will report back next month.

Deacon Don contacted Doug Boyer from the King�s House concerning a one-night mission speaker this Fall. Deacon Don learned that Doug Boyer is not available due to very busy schedule. Deacon Don offered to make additional contacts looking for someone to serve as a speaker for a half day or full day mission this Fall.

Bill Schwartz reported on the 150th Year Celebration.  It was suggested that we do a half day retreat Oct. 27th at Raddle and then during Lent, possibly a 3-day Mission or a Quarterly 1-day Mission.  Some ideas were:  Leah Darrow (Cindy Canning to contact), Barbara Jean Franklin from Ruma, or someone from St. Meinrad (Deacon Don to contact).  There were LOTS of ideas and a lot of discussion.

On September 8th & 9th Jessica or Krissy will talk before each Mass about the Youth Program.  Volunteers are needed for money, help, etc.

Community Life:
Rebecca Korando reported that Nicole Smelter will be talking with Fr. Gary regarding the information needed in the Parish Directory.

Physical Facilities:  
Bill Schwartz reported that the white stone is badly stained on the South/West walls of the school and should be cleaned.  Kevin Junk asked whether the material was stucco. He cautioned using a high power spray on stucco and suggested we find out the type of stone before trying to clean it.

New Business:
Father Gary handed out a preliminary design for a columbarium. A discussion ensued regarding the possibility and cost of building a columbarium.

Father Gary also indicated he would, if he could, purchase the remaining property on the block of the Parish House and put up a daycare.

Theresa Madel informed us that Katie Robben, of St. Dominic�s in Breese would be at both Masses this weekend at St. Andrew Church.  She will talk about her mission, Let Us Move Mountains in Uganda, East Africa.

Rob Kippenbrock talked about his attendance at a retreat at the White House.  He said it was very relatable.

Cindy Canning talked about the trip some of the ladies took to St. Alphonsus Liguori Rock Catholic Church in St. Louis.  They were all very excited about going.  She relayed the energy that was displayed and how welcomed they all felt.  

The School Festival is August 10th & 11th.  Volunteers are needed.

Closing prayer was led by Father Gary.

The meeting ended at 7:55 pm.

The next parish council meeting is scheduled for August 16, 2018, at 6 pm.
